IPA + PROBIOTA 2026

13 February 2026

We were delighted to attend IPA + Probiota 2026, the leading microbiome industry event organised by NutraIngredients.com, held in Dublin from 11–13 February 2026. Bringing together over 500 attendees from academia, industry, and regulatory bodies, Probiota continues to be a key platform for advancing microbiome science. The event provided outstanding opportunities to expand knowledge, networking and engage in high-level roundtable discussions.

Showcasing the Science Behind Lab4®

At this year’s event, our team shared new insights into the science underpinning our Lab4 probiotic consortia.

Dr Daryn Michael presented our work on the cholesterol-lowering capabilities of Lab4P probiotics. Mechanistic screening for cholesterol-lowering activity led to the conception of the Lab4P probiotic consortium, which has demonstrated the ability to improve circulating lipid profiles in experimental models of hypercholesterolaemia as well as in human intervention studies. These findings highlight the clinically relevant potential of targeted probiotic formulations in supporting cardiovascular health.

Dr Iveta Garaiova shared data on Lab4B and Lab4 probiotics, exploring benefits from birth through childhood. Randomised controlled trials show that Lab4B and Lab4 probiotic consortia safely support gut microbiota development from birth. The data demonstrate reductions in atopy, improvements in bowel habits, and a lower incidence of upper respiratory infections, absenteeism, and antibiotic use — reinforcing the importance of early-life microbiome support.

Our Commercial and Supply Chain Executive, Josh Kerry, was pleased to discuss Lab4 partnership opportunities in more detail with attendees throughout the event.
